Mobile advertising is the next big wave in advertising. That was said by Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt in his interview reported by FazNet (26/5/2008).
Summary of his interview:
- there’s still a lot of room in search marketing. The next big wave in advertising is the mobile internet, a more personalized and targetted market.
- mobile advertising is a larger business than PC-Web era in the long run, but not in the near future.
- the idea behind Google’s large investment in Wimax is to ensure open network and access, to prevent US carriers network close off the network.
- the web 2.0 architecture is not the money maker.
- online advertising hasn’t worked well with social network. There should be some improvements and new approach in online advertising on the social network.
- cloud computing is Google business model though it can’t be done right now for external usage
